A pit bull that apparently starved to death was discovered Friday in the recyclables at Chambersburg Waste Paper Co. Dennis Bumbaugh, humane society police officer, is investigating the death of a very thin dog that an IESI truck brought to the facility on Loop Road.

The dog — a petite, dark chocolate female, weighing about 20 pounds — was found by employees as they were going through the recyclable materials. :(

Police noted the IESI truck picked-up items in Hagerstown, Waynesboro and Chambersburg.

Anyone with information about the pit bull can call Bumbaugh at 1-866-493-3590, Extension 2.

I hope someone didn't do that to him on purpose.

^ I wonder too, if the dog died while looking for food, or some cruel owner just dumped the body after letting the poor dog starve.

^ Not the same dog, if that's what you meant.
