I need to know how to install windows 7 via a flash drive, my reasoning behind this is that I currently do not have a SATA cable for my DVD drive, and I am (hopefully) going to swap my 250GB out for a 1TB long enough to RMA it back to Seagate.

That will take a Win7 ISO and make it bootable so you can install from flash drive. Just set your computer to boot from that.

Microsoft really should make this tool easier to find from the main site

One more thing to notice, the tool will works nicely in Windows 64Bit edition,
If you want to Burn the USB from 32Bit Edition of Windows, for 32Bit edition of Windows 7/8 then fine,
but if you are going to Burn the USB for 64Bit Edition of Windows from 32Bit edition of Windows, then it will be pain (Search the bootsect file for 32Bit to burn 64Bit USB)
Just sharing my experience :)

This is a very good point, and an issue I had encountered some time back.
I now user http://wintoflash.com/home/en/ which will let you burn 32bit or 64bit from either a 32bit or 64bit system. It saves you hunting for the correct bootsect files.
