The Rev
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1649419/ "An account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time." *Based on a true story, if you didn't know. Rating: 10/10 Very powerful movie, well made on a limited budget w/limited visual effects... Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts were good, but then 13 year old Tom Holland (who I believe is 16 now) was the glue that tied all the characters together... Though our experiences were not the same, I identify with struggling and pained youth, as I suffered years of abuse from schoolmates and siblings... And though we sometimes like to compare our trauma to see who has it worse, I believe trauma is trauma... I might not have had it as bad as Tom's character here, but I suffered overwhelming pain, fear, isolation, loneliness just as his character. And for that, I pretty much lived through the horror of the Tsunami with him. The score, which I loved, added a lot of emotionality to the movie. The story was very tough to sit through, and had me crying in several spots... The end was bittersweet, but overall, I left the theater happy...
