A Jacksonville mother was arrested Sunday after she told her 13-year-old son he would have to sleep in the woods near a 7-Eleven in Sanford as punishment, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said.

Tiffany Buffkin, 32, her two sons and her boyfriend were on their way home after a weekend at Central Florida theme parks when Buffkin and her boyfriend began arguing, sheriff's spokeswoman Kim Cannaday said.

The boyfriend pulled into a 7-Eleven west of Interstate 4 and forced the mother and her children out about 10:30 p.m., investigators said. Buffkin blamed the older boy for the fight and left him alone in the convenience store, where he tried for at least half an hour to reach a relative or friend to pick him up, a report states.

Deputies found the boy's 6-year-old brother sleeping behind the store about 11:30 p.m. and saw Buffkin walk from behind the building, which she was holding onto for balance, according to the report.

She smelled of alcohol, could not answer deputies' questions and began to curse loudly, according to the report. Buffkin was arrested on charges of child neglect, disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest.
