The first communications pass of CASSIOPE is expected ~T+30 minutes over Germany's O'Higgins ground station in Antarctica.

That it was!!

Confirmation from MDA that CASSIOPE has separated and they have a healthy bird!!

Secondaries are also chiming in of separation & comms.

Any word on the powered descent?

Last word was that the deceleration burn and reorientation had happened and they had GPS and tracking locks. No word on a landing burn yet. A recovery ship is steaming SSW at 8-9 knots.

They may hold the results for the press conference later today.

I also wonder why there has been total radio silence from SpaceX/Elon Musk since the launch. Not even a single Twitter message from Elon telling about the launch...

There's a big media press conference later today. No need to spoil its thunder, though we know CASSIOPE and the several secondary payloads are reported healthy.

Edit: press conference at 3:30 PM Eastern, just under an hour.
