Windows 10 password ... ?

Recommended Posts

Windows 10 is installed, but it is asking for a Password.

I set none.

I tried the security code Microsoft sent.

Tried my hotmail password.

What does it want ???

Have you tried just hitting enter? Maybe it just wants nothing, but prompts you.

Resolved:

I reran the Set-up DVD and managed somehow to Delete the first Install.

Then I chose Custom instead of Express installation.

This allowed me to not have a password.

I always use custom install, it's simply better. Didn't have any password trouble there.

I found this on Google search result.

  1. To enable your computer to not require a password to login to Windows 8, perform the following:
    1. Press Windows key + R to open command prompt. ...
    2. Uncheck "user must enter user name and password to use this computer", then click "ok".
    3. Enter your user name and password, then click "ok".
    4. Restart your computer.

This principle should also work for Windows 10. Make sure to run the setup disc and run in command prompt mode.

1.5: type NETPLWIZ into the search box or command prompt to bring up the list of users.

Then do number 2 :p

here is another way,

winkey+r

at the cmd prompt type control userpasswords2 and then untick the box and click on apply and the ok.

log off and restart your pc.

You're missing something - because those steps will do nothing.
