GPU headaches

Recommended Posts

Good lord, how much thermal grease did you slather on to fill all those resistors well past the GPU's heat spreader???  Clean ALL that stuff off!

Are you sure? Then it's possible that they might replace it while still under warranty since it happened naturally??

if it is damaged how come it occurred naturally? for the die to break some heavy force must have been pressed.

you have destroyed it see that perfectly cut steel rectangle on the top with the past on that is your die and if you look you have broken off the right hand side of the die its knackered reassemble it and take it back clean it up and ask for an exchange in shop that die is the gpu and half of its missing this occurs when the cooler block is not seated correctly you might get away with it  :/

the only thing i can see is thermal paste everywhere, in a grainy low res photo.

Wait ... you removed the cooler of a potentially still under warranty expensive gpu?

that was my first reaction, some posts ago.

Why OP removed the cooler? Because MSI engineers must be so damn cheap to put such a small amount of thermal paste, so consumers must put the rest of the paste for the card to work properly, that's why!:woot:
