I don't seperate anyone or aim to be superior. Simply the information I got was from someone employed at Microsoft and I am not about to say who it is. So we can argue until we're blue in the face, fact is, I will not disclose the source.

Well you just said it yourself, "I got was from someone employed at Microsoft".

If you got it from someone else, then why did you credit yourself? "Source = Geekster."

Shouldn't you be crediting the someone? "Source = Microsoft employee"?

I don't really see the news. The employee could be a janitor for all we know. Microsoft has already talked SP1 for Vista for a while now.

As I said above - there is no news. Everybody knows there will be a Vista SP1 - and I'm pretty sure we've said it will be a normal service pack (ie. no new features). Also everybody knows that there will be another version of Windows after Vista (ie. "Vista + 1").

So if you know as much as the last person why do you make yourself so righteous when you don't know any better?

Huh? I work in the Windows org.

I can't talk about internal schedules or plans or anything like that. But I can help stop baseless rumors...

Geekster, maybe you have a nice source, but don't ever try questioning Brandon. He is closer to the pot than you think ;)

As for the "news":
a fact: a Microsoft employee writes a line to his EFI handling code, removes another line, and plans to show it to his boss in december.
"news": Microsoft is changing the EFI engine, testing starts in december.

I'm not questioning your source, but the more data streams the bits are travelling, the bigger the chance of a data loss or a data change. Keep this in mind when "hearing things" ;)

PS: Inquier version: Ballmer directed the developers, developers, developers... to drasticly change BIOS handling in Vista: every 2nd end-user have to buy a new motherboard? :p
