DX9 Final

Recommended Posts

After installing DX9, I ran the DXDiag tool and found out that there is still beta components.

Tried to install those RC builds but stop after they said that it will expire.

Why is it so?

I'm not sure if this happened to you guys but after installing DirectX 9.0 I had to replace my Shell32.dll file and some others again. didn't happen in Beta releases but Final it did. Just curious if this happened to any of you guys.

Thats because of a Windows Update, not dx9

After looking at DxDiag again I found out that I have both Beta and Final versions of the files in my last screenshot.

Final: 5.03.0000.0900

Beta: 5.03.0000.0389

???

So I should just reinstall DX9?

No I'm not a Slashdotter, I am in a position to know.

And I know that this build is not final.

Anyway I've wasted enough time here, go download. Install Pre-release software, what do I care.

What's the point, unless you have an ATI 9700 then DX9 will do nothing for you anyway.

I give up.

I guess you need to re-evaluate what you know.

oddly enough...i benched on my radeon 9000 pro a while ago, and then last night i dumped dx9 on there and ran it again...and got a 1000+ point jump in 3dmark. weeeeird. maybe i recorded the stats wrong the last time. i should've benched right before i installed and right after. oh well.
