Weekend PC Game Deals: Simulate PC builds and rule the galaxy

Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place, every week, for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets.

Galactic Civilizations 3 is free on the epic games store

The latest freebie slot refresh from the Epic Games Store brought in a copy of Galactic Civilizations III, taking the place of Gods Will Fall from last week. Oddly enough, this returning freebie was given away exactly a year ago on the store, so you might already have a copy in your library.

The turn-based 4X title offers you various alien races to choose from in your quest to conquer the galaxy via diplomacy and warfare. There are technologies to research, starships to design, politics to deal with, and more. The Crusade and Retribution expansions are included as well.

This giveaway will run until Thursday, January 20, and coming up next as the freebie is a copy of Relicta, a physics-based puzzler involving gravity and magnetism manipulation.

Humble PC Building Sim bundle

Meanwhile, on Humble, a couple of new bundles have landed, but only with single games in them. First up is a collection offering PC Building Simulator and a host of DLC surrounding it. The first tier offers the base game of PC Building Simulator only for $1. Going up a rung adds content from ROG and Razer, as well as Overclocked Edition bonuses like special cases. Currently this tier costs about $6.

The final tier comes in at $15, and it carries EVGA, Fractal Design, AUORUS, NZXT, Overclockers UK components and the Esports expansion.

The next bundle is carrying Paradox's Surviving Mars, and like the previous selection, it's just the base game included in the initial $1 tier. The second tier will set you back about 6$ and comes with several thematic sets and a new in-game radio channel. Paying the full $10 price of the bundle adds on Green Planet and Space Race expansions, as well as the Deluxe Edition and In-Dome Buildings packs into the mix.

Big Deals

With the beginning of the weekend arrives a wide assortment of sales, and as the latest major promotions are mostly behind us now, there's not much of a theme going on for the available discounts. Find our highlights below:

DRM-free Goodness

GOG's weekend sales are mostly populated with classic EA releases, all in the expected DRM-free flavor:

Keep in mind that availability and pricing for some deals could vary depending on the region.

That's it for our pick of this weekend's PC game deals, and hopefully, some of you have enough self-restraint not to keep adding to your ever-growing backlogs. As always, there's an enormous amount of other deals ready and waiting all over the interwebs as well as in services you may already subscribe to if you comb through them, so keep your eyes open for those, and have a great weekend.
