Earlier this year, Thunder Lotus Games stepped into the multiplayer side of gaming for the first time, delivering the large-scale cooperative experience 33 Immortals. The early access title has received several updates since its debut, and now, the studio has prepared its biggest one yet, adding new weapons, objectives, and more.
Dubbed the Pride and Temperance, the update is carrying two brand-new weapons for players to equip before they get back into fighting through the circles of hell. These are the Crossbows of Pride and the Glaive of Temperance.
The crossbows are dual-handed ranged weapons that can mark enemies before delivering rapid-fire volleys to quickly deal a large amount of damage. It doesn"t seem to pierce enemies, setting it apart from the regular bow. For melee fans, the Glaive delivers sweeping attacks to multiple enemies at a time, but with the downside of slower strikes.
Meanwhile, the new Ordeals system allows players to revamp their runs with difficulty modifiers. These can be stacked as more and more bosses get defeated, leading to tough runs with much more valuable rewards.
Fresh chamber objectives are a part of the update, too. These new rooms have players teaming together to destroy certain effigies and defend areas long enough to capture their seals.
“With this update, our goal was to push the boundaries of what players can experience in 33 Immortals,” said Stephan Logier, Creative Director at Thunder Lotus. “We wanted to give fans the feature they were the most eager to see in the game: two new weapons, as those will add a lot of hours to the game and depth in the gameplay. They will also get new challenges if they dare to embrace them, new cosmetics, and even more ways to dive into the chaos.”
The 33 Immortals Pride and Temperance Update is available now for players on PC (Epic Games Store, Xbox App on PC), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, and cloud. As early access development continues for 33 Immortals, Thunder Lotus is also working on its next single-player adventure, At Fate’s End, which is slated to land in 2026.
