Alleged OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro EU pricing leaks, starts from €719

The OnePlus 8 series has already leaked extensively ahead of its announcement next week. Spoiling OnePlus" party, the EU pricing of the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro have also leaked. The pricing was first spotted by WinFuture in listings from European retailer Alsa.sk.

As per the listing, the OnePlus 8 Pro will carry a starting price tag of €919. If the pricing is indeed correct, the device would be over €200 more expensive than the €699 OnePlus 7 Pro from last year. The leaks do point to the OnePlus 8 Pro being a substantial upgrade in terms of camera and build quality, but this price increase might just make the device too expensive for many. The OnePlus 8 carries a base price of €719 which makes it €20 more expensive than the OnePlus 7 Pro. However, the OnePlus 8 would technically be the successor to the OnePlus 7T from last year which is priced at €579 which means that we are seeing a price increase of nearly €140.

Below are the leaked prices of the entire OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro lineup:

  • OnePlus 8 (8GB RAM/128GB storage): €719/729
  • OnePlus 8 (12GB RAM/256GB storage): €819/829
  • OnePlus 8 Pro (8GB RAM/128GB storage): €919/929
  • OnePlus 8 Pro (12GB RAM/256GB storage): €1,009/1.019

One of the reasons behind the steep price increase of the OnePlus 8 series is the Snapdragon 865 chipset which is more expensive than previous Snapdragon chips. The addition of 5G along with the related modem and antenna modules are also a major factor behind the price increase. The OnePlus 8 Pro will also come with 30W wireless charging and an official IP rating, both features which were missing from previous OnePlus devices.
