Right after the mega launch of its all-new Gemini assistant for smart speakers, Pixel 10 series, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel Buds 2a, and Pixel Watch 4, Google announced some new features and updates for the AI Mode in Google Search.
The search giant is bringing more advanced agentic and personalization features to AI Mode and expanding its reach. You can now use AI Mode to find restaurant reservations, and soon you will be able to book local service appointments and event tickets.
Google explained that while looking for a restaurant reservation, your query can include multiple constraints and preferences, such as party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine. AI Mode will then search across various websites in real-time based on these needs and curate a list of available restaurant slots.
Online platforms like OpenTable, Resy, Ticketmaster, StubHub, and Booksy are among the partners offering integration with Google Search to bring the feature to action. AI Mode also relies on Project Mariner"s live browsing capabilities, Google Maps, and Knowledge Graph.
This feature is now available to Google AI Ultra subscribers living in the US, who have opted in to the "Agenetic capabilities in AI Mode" experiment in Search Labs.
Those who have opted in to the AI Mode experiment in Labs will now see results based on their personal preferences and interests. Currently available for dining-related queries in the US, AI Mode will consider factors like your chat history and places you have searched in Google Maps and Search, before showing relevant results.
"So if AI Mode infers that you have a preference for Italian food, plant-based meals and places that have outdoor seating, you may get results suggesting options like these," Google added.
AI Mode now has link-sharing functionality for people living in the US. They can share an AI Mode conversation with their friends and family, who can ask follow-up questions. Users can easily manage the shared links and delete them at any time.
AI Mode was initially available in the US and later expanded to India and the UK. Google is now rolling it out to over 180 new countries and territories worldwide. Earlier this year, it was updated with several features, including support for data visualization and custom charts, and the ability to stream your live camera feed in Search.
