Goosebumps Dead of Night announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC

A first-person horror survival title has been announced by video game maker Cosmic Forces. Duly titled Goosebumps Dead of Night, the game includes characters and story concepts from the wildly popular horror franchise based on the works of writer R. L. Stine.

The game is scheduled to land on multiple platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch as well as PC via Steam. An announcing trailer has also been revealed for the survival horror title, offering snippets of the expected gameplay experience. The minute-long video can be found below:

Goosebumps Dead of Night will feature three chapters of gameplay containing monsters, locations and lore from the Goosebumps universe. Players will get to solve puzzles while exploring the world created by the makers of the game.

A summary of the storyline for the title, as found on the game"s official website, reads:

"Slappy has escaped from the pages of Goosebumps and reunited his family of Monsters. It’s up to you to stop Slappy’s dastardly plan to unleash the Goosebumps monsters into our world. To trap Slappy back into his book you’ll have to solve puzzles and outwit the Goosebumps monsters. Can you survive Slappy’s wrath and defeat him?"

Interestingly, the game will also include R. L. Stine himself as an in-game character. According to Steam, the famous author of the popular children"s horror book series will be voiced by Jack Black.

The reveal trailer for Goosebumps Dead of Night does not mention a specific release date for the game, mentioning only that the slated launch window is Summer 2020. On the other hand, the Steam page for the title which has now gone live states that the PC version is due out on June 12, 2020. It is probable that Cosmic Forces will unveil the console release in the days to come.
