Halo Infinite Season 2 goes live with new maps, modes, battle pass, and more

343 Industries has pushed its biggest update yet for Halo Infinite today, with Season 2: Lone Wolves dropping in with a major content injection for the free-to-play multiplayer portion. Two new maps, three game modes, a brand-new battle pass, customization options, new events, and more are incoming with this release.

Catalyst and Breaker are now available as Arena and Big Team Battle maps, respectively. Meanwhile, there are three new game modes: King of the Hill, Land Grab, and Last Spartan Standing. The last of which is a 12-player free-for-all that brings an interesting twist, combining the gameplay of a Battle Royale and Gun Game.

As expected, a new battle pass is also a part of Season 2, bringing with it 100 more tiers of cosmetic unlocks for Spartans to go after. This time it includes premium credits for use on the store as unlocks too. As Halo Infinite battle passes do not expire, Season 1"s content is still here, with players who purchase it still being able to gain unlocks from the older tiers.

However, there is a major missing element too, which was originally promised as day one arrival with Season 2, that being campaign cooperative play support. 343 Industries is now aiming for a late August release for this much-awaited feature. On the other hand, Forge is coming sooner than expected, with the sandbox editor landing in beta form sometime in September.

Looking at the future of Season 2, 343 Industries is planning "Narrative Events" to expand on the lore, more Fracture events, campaign mission replays, and overall faster updates to the game. The complete patch notes for Season 2 can be found here.

Halo Infinite Season 2 Lone Wolves is, once again, a six month long offering. The update is now out and is available for players on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and cloud.
