Microsoft might be launching two new streaming devices at E3

Let"s face it, Microsoft doesn"t have much of a presence in the entertainment market. Its tablets don"t have their own e-book platform and Movies & TV is pretty much the only Microsoft service that still hasn"t made it to any other platforms. In fact, Microsoft even sells Roku devices in the Microsoft Store, but you can"t even play the movies that you bought on your Xbox.

According to a new report from Brad Sams, the firm is taking a step to change that, planning to release two streaming devices at E3.

One of them will be a Chromecast-type device. With a cost of around $100, this device will be for streaming only.

The other will be a larger device, an Xbox Mini. Sams speculates that users will be able to run Universal apps on the Xbox Mini and that it will cost between $150 and $175.

The report also stated that Microsoft might announce the rumored "Xbox 1.5", for lack of a better name. This new Xbox wouldn"t support 4K gaming, but it would support 4K video playback.

Of course, we"re only a few weeks away from Microsoft"s E3 press conference, which is going to be on June 13. We"ll find out more then.
