NBA 2K21 is free to claim on the Epic Games Store this week

Since last week, Epic Games Store had kept the next freebie coming to PC gamers a secret until it was time to unveil it. Today, that giveaway turned out to be a copy of NBA 2K21, the latest game in the long-running basketball series developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. This also replaces previous freebie, The Lion"s Song, from last week.

As with most sports games, the latest entry is built upon previous releases to refine various elements, from an improved shot stick for even more control when shooting jump shots and layups, to a brand new MyCareer cinematic storyline that takes your custom player from high school all the way to the big leagues.

Shooting hoops won"t be that straining on your PC, though note that the developer does recommend using a controller when playing to get the best experience. Here are the minimum system requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-530 @ 2.93 GHz / AMD FX-4100 @ 3.60 GHz or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 450 1GB / AMD® Radeon™ HD 7770 1GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 11

The NBA 2K21 giveaway will last through next Thursday, May 27, and you can claim a copy on its store page on the Epic Games Store here. Another mystery game is occupying the next up section of Epic"s ongoing giveaways, so expect another special drop in the forthcoming week.
