NeoBytes :) Annoyed fisherman hooks flying drone in midair

NeoBytes :) is an occasional feature that takes a step back from the big headlines, to take a look at what else is happening in the vast, scary expanse of the tech world - often with a cynical eye, always with a dose of humour.

The increasing popularity of drones is undeniable, but piloting them is still a grey area in many regions with no clear laws governing the use of them. While they are able to capture amazing footage, sometimes that is at the cost of noise pollution and/or disturbing the privacy of others.

Apparently it was the latter for one fisherman in San Diego this weekend, as he clearly was not amused being filmed by a drone in a public space. In the footage below, the annoyed fisherman takes matters into his own hands and hooks the drone midair in one try. As the drone becomes hooked, it begins an upward ascent in an attempt to free itself from the line. While we don"t get to see what happens, the video does end with the drone operator having to remove tons of fishing line from the drones propeller.

Naturally, hooking or disabling a drone in midair isn"t the right thing to do, but it does bring into question when laws will be put into place to protect those being filmed and those filming.
