Nintendo today announced during its Indie World presentation - using its iconic "one more thing" segue - that another Microsoft platform exclusive is breaking into the Switch. This time it is the acclaimed adventure platformer Ori and the Blind Forest, which originally arrived on Windows and Xbox One back in 2015.
This is not a new venture for Microsoft. The company has previously brought over Cuphead and Minecraft (with cross-play) over to the Switch, with Super Lucky"s Tale and Minecraft Dungeons also on the way.
Note that the Switch version is getting the platformer"s Definitive Edition, meaning it will have additional content like new areas, abilities, story elements, difficulty modes, and other features over the original Ori release. Here"s a short description of the game"s setting for those unfamiliar:
The forest of Nibel is dying. After a powerful storm sets a series of devastating events in motion, Ori must journey to find courage and confront a dark nemesis to save the forest of Nibel.
Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition is landing on the Nintendo Switch on September 27. We will have to wait and see if the upcoming sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, will also fly over to the Nintendo console at some point.
