Oura has announced an update to the Ring 4, its smart ring that comes with new features like multi-ring support under a single account, a portable charging case, and blood biomarker tracking. The ring still promises up to 8 days on a single charge and now has a new ceramic finish, simply tagged Ring 4 Ceramic.

The new Oura Ring 4 Ceramic comes in four pastel colors: Cloud, Tide, Petal, and Midnight. Oura claims the ring"s exterior is made from "zirconia ceramic," a material sometimes called "ceramic steel" because it is harder than regular steel and quite resistant to scratches.

Oura calls it a "finely crafted piece of jewelry," but it can still scruff, which means it can pick up color from softer metals it bumps against, like cookware or a dumbbell. You should maintain it by using the included polishing pad to remove these cosmetic marks. To minimize impact, Oura suggests you wear the ring on your non-dominant hand and be careful when handling heavy metal objects.

There is also now a new Charging Case for people who travel or need to charge away from an outlet. It is a compact, splash-resistant aluminum case that is USB-C powered and can fully charge your ring up to five times from its internal battery.

A full charge for both the case and the ring takes about 90 minutes. The case is sold separately from the ring, costs $99, and will be available later this year in the US and "select markets" globally in the future.

Lastly, the company is introducing Health Panels in its app, a new feature that lets Oura members order blood tests directly from their phone. The feature integrates lab results for over 50 health biomarkers related to cardiovascular, metabolic, and immune health with the ring"s daily tracking data.

You can schedule a blood test at one of over 2,000 Quest Diagnostics labs through the app, and the results get sent directly back to you there. The app will then display your values and show you what is in range or out of range. An AI feature called Oura Advisor is also there to answer questions about what the results mean.

Health Panels costs $99 per test and is eligible for Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account payments. The feature will be available "in the coming weeks" for Oura Ring Gen3 and Oura Ring 4 Members using either iOS or Android.

It is limited to members between the ages of 18 and 64 living in the US, save for a few states like Arizona, Hawaii, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island, because of local state regulations, according to Oura.
