PixelJunk Raiders announced as a Stadia exclusive, March free games revealed

The latest instalment in the PixelJunk series has just been announced in Stadia"s weekly update. Titled PixelJunk Raiders, the game will be coming exclusively to Google Stadia. Stadia Pro subscribers will be able to play the game for free from March 1 onwards.

The blurb for the upcoming Stadia exclusive reads:

"PixelJunk Raiders is the latest creation from the geniuses at Q-Games. Planet Tantal is under attack by fiendish aliens bent on harvesting the population’s life force! Shake off that hypersleep and slash, smash, raid, and rescue your way through hundreds of unique missions, all while unravelling the mystery of the enigmatic Keepers."

Aside from the new game announcement, the upcoming month"s free games for Stadia Pro were also unveiled. In addition to PixelJunk Raiders, Pro members will be able to play the following three games for free in March:

  • AVICII Invector
  • PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle
  • Reigns

This week"s update also introduced four new games that have joined the Stadia store today. The new squad that has arrived on the cloud gaming platform consists of Welcome to Elk, A Place for the Unwilling, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge. Users will have to purchase the titles in order to play them.

Welcome to Elk is a 2D adventure that takes place in a quirky, colourful island setting. In contrast, A Place for the Unwilling is a narrative game set in a creepy yet magical city where all the characters and the metropolis itself are dying. Stadia users can buy either game for $14.99 each.

Meanwhile, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge are titles from the 2D platforming series named Shantae. Stadia users can purchase the former for $29.99 and the latter for $9.99 from the Google-owned cloud gaming platform"s store.
