Samsung has unveiled a new Galaxy ringtone for its latest mobile user interface, One UI 8. The new ringtone is featured on the new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7. It’s inspired by Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and represents the second installment in a classical ringtone series, following the 2024 ringtone based on Camille Saint-Saëns’ The Carnival of the Animals. The Korean smartphone maker used a sound design that is part of an ongoing Inspired by Nature concept introduced with One UI 7.
This ringtone isn’t something that Samsung has put together artificially on a computer, the company actually got a team of world-class artists, including Grammy Award-winning sound director, a violinist, and a classical ensemble to record the ringtone. The production used a harpsichord layered with string instruments to evoke the texture of Baroque music and was recorded in a live concert hall with specific microphone placement for each musician.
The piece was produced in Dolby Atmos for a more immersive, spatial sound experience and the team tried hard to ensure their interpretation expressed the emotion of each season.
The new ringtone attempts to represent Galaxy’s evolving sound identity by blending inspiration from nature with refined technical craftsmanship. "Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’ delicately expresses the emotion and transitions of each season,” said Yunjae Lee, Sound Designer, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “This piece reflects our desire to bring users a rich and immersive sound experience in their daily lives.”
Samsung hopes that the new ringtone will “enrich the everyday sound experience” for users with this music that"s designed to evoke the passage of time and offers “the warmth and resonance unique to classical music.” The company said that the goal is to bring uplifting sounds to everyday life.
