Skyrim Hearthfire expansion officially announced

Bethesda officially took the wraps of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim"s next expansion today, and it will be called Hearthfire. It will allow players to design and build their own homes in the Skyrim world, adding whatever rooms you desire should have the available tools, materials and coin. The trailer lists a few examples, such as the ability to build kitchens, greenhouses, alchemy labs and more.

You can also choose, along with your in-game spouse, to adopt a child and turn your house into a home (as Bethesda puts it) - but you may have to protect it from whatever people and creatures decide to attack it.

Hearthfire will be coming to the Xbox 360 first on September 4 for 400 Microsoft Points ($5), and like with Dawnguard initially there has been no word on when it will be making the jump to PC. We expect could take at least a month to make it to PC, so be patient PC gamers!
