Verizon Lumia 928 and 822 get Denim, Icon users told to sit in the corner and wait

For those of you who have a Verizon Windows Phone, there is good news if you own a Lumia 928 or 822; if you own an Icon, however, there is bad news. Microsoft is saying that the 928 and 822 should start receiving notifications that the Denim update is now rolling out but if you have an Icon, you will have to wait until early 2015.

This news will likely crush the hearts of Icon users as "early 2015, as Joe Belfiore stated on Twitter, is quite vague. The Icon, which was a flagship Lumia when it launched, always seems to be the forgotten child on Verizon as it has been slow to receive updates.

Happy Holidays WP users on Verizon! The 928 and 922 updates (WP8.1 + Denim) go live today and the ICON is on deck for early 2015.

Denim arrives with numerous improvements and fixes, brings Cortana to additional markets and allows users to download the new Lumia Camera app; you can check out the full list of changes here.

Here’s hoping that after such a long wait the Denim update rolls-out to all devices quickly. Of course that will not only depend on Microsoft but on your carrier as well. You can check out the lists of devices and carriers receiving the update here for Europe and here for India.
