Want the Microsoft Band and live outside the US? Be prepared to wait

Microsoft announced its play into the wearable market late last night and so far, there appears to be quite a bit of excitement around the device. But, that excitement only extends to the borders of the United States as Microsoft has said that the device will only be available there.

For those of you outside the US, the news is not good for now. Joe Belfiore posted on Twitter that they will be monitoring the feedback before rolling out the Band to other regions. We have seen this scenario play-out many times before with the Zune, Surface, and now the Band. So, for those of you anywhere else in the world, your only chance at getting a Band is to have one shipped directly to you.

Folks asking about #MSBand - We’re starting out in the US to learn and get feedback for a little while. Definitely stay tuned!

This is not the news many fans will have wanted to hear as it looks like the device is being received well. Sadly, based on the wording Belfiore used, it doesn"t look like an international expansion is in the cards anytime soon.

We will keep you posted if we hear anything more about how to get a Band outside the US but for now, don"t get your hopes up that their stance will change anytime soon.

If you need a refresher on the features of the device, you can read more about it here.
