request bios password removal

I mistakenly entered a bios password due to screen problem. It's displays 

Password check failed 

Fatal error.. System 

But with no error code displayed. I took off the RTC battery to reset the password but still to no avail. I seriously need help.

The system does not display any Hault code. 

I eve tried to use the serial number tag at the bottom of the laptop but still negative.

You may need to download a BIOS file from HP  and reflash the BIOS chip.

 

It can be tricky, so read up, and  be careful.

Just confirming, this is a BIOS password or HDD password?
