Burn DVD to play on TV as well as computer

Question

I copied about 25 short videos from my camcorder to my computer.  I created a folder on the desktop, and then copied those 25 videos into that folder. I then used Nero Burning Rom 10 to burn those short videos to a DVD disc. Not sure exactly what choice I made with Burning Rom 10, but all is good. I can play the DVD on this computer and all 25 videos play as they should, but I want to play the DVD on my TV as well. It does not play on the TV.  I also have Nero Vision 10 Xtra., which is what I THINK I need to use to burn a DVD disc that I can play on the TV. I have tried several of the 9 or more options that I get when I open Nero Vision 10  Xtra. No luck. Can someone tell me what options to choose, in order ??  I have Windows 10 Pro on this computer. Many thanks, Mike .    When I say play on the TV, I have a stand alone DVD / VCR recorder, player. I want to put the newly burnt DVD disc in the stand alone DVD player and watch it on the TV.

Thanks Hum for the reply. I tried Freemake. I did get to convert the MP4 files, however when I played it back on the computer (the  new AVI file) it had an advertisement at the start of each movie clip. I went back to try and do it again and tried to REMOVE the ad, but I need to upgrade to a better version at a cost of  $10.00 I never tried burning it to a DVD disc since it had 25 adds.  I will look into that DVD Santa you mentioned.  Question....what type of file format do I need to convert the MP4 files into in order to play it on the TV ??   I assume  AVI  ??

Back in the day.. Like 5+ years ago if not more when people use to still do this somewhat.. I think I stop burning dvd's like 10 years ago or something ;)

Now everyone just runs a HTPC, There are lots of stand alone players Or runs a plex server, kodi, etc. come to mind.  Most TVs shoot will play a video file that you connect to it via USB if you can not use something as common as dlna to play off your nas or pc or media server..

Burning a dvd - wow talking about stone age ###### ;)

Here I looked up a cheap player for you media on your TV.. $40.. 4.3 stars with 3300+ reviews

BudMan.  I do not understand half of what you said. My practice for several  years was to burn the short videos that I took with the camcorder to a hard DVD Disc that I could store for years and share them with family and friends. I would just hook up the camcorder to the DVD / VCR unit and burn the movies to a DVD while watching it on the TV. I just thought it would be easier to copy the videos to my computer, and then burn them to a DVD.  Guess I will just have to burn DVD's the way I used to. That works and I have a hard copy for whatever.

Use version 3.2.1.5 - http://www.oldversion.com/windows/freemake-3-2-1-5

It doesn't have that crap.

aye, I have that saved on one of my cloud accounts somewhere :D, though I've went back to handbrake for my video conversion needs as I think it produces better video quality, and you can add subs with out having to pay for the privilege unlike handbreak as well as multiple audio options.

my samsung TV lets me use windows playto too send my videos over to it across my home network. if you have an apple TV you could also put your home videos into Itunes and stream them over the network to an apple TV. or chromecast them. would save you a lot of hassle

I do have a video camera, I take out the sdcard and copy the files over to my server and then call up my plex server on my TV and there you go - video in 1080P.. DVD does what at best 720x480, not even HD.. If a friend or family want to have the video I give it to them on a usb stick, or they can download it from my server.  Or just watch is live stream off my plex from their house or on their phone, etc.  I don't think I have burn'd a optical disk for anything over than backup in like 10 years.  And prob 5 years its been bluray and last couple of years mdisc..

I thought this was a site that you could post questions, and get help with your problems, not sarcasm. Guess I was wrong or out of date with that also.

It doesn't have that crap.

Use this version of Freemake -- be sure to Install only while disconnected from the internet.

Do not run right away.

Reboot your computer before running Freemake for the first time.

Otherwise it updates itself with unwanted things.
