SouthGate
I have a new dedicated server running VMware ESXi, due to the main IP being in a different subnet than the /28 block they've assigned me I will need to create a VM to do some routing. My question is should I use pfsense or something else? There's a lot available such as pfsense, ipfire, untable etc. Which would be the best option for a simple routing VM? sc302 Veteran Posted February 16, 2017 Veteran Share Posted February 16, 2017 What exactly are you talking about? I have a split subnet externally, 1to1 nat functions without routing.... I need a bit more information before I can make a suggestion as to what to do. Perhaps a drawing of your network structure would help....short of saying you don't do anything other than use the addresses as you would normally, I am not sure exactly what you are getting on about. Inertia
Pfsense is a great software router, I've been using it for year or 2 now thanks to advice from @BudMan
