Can I use this function of Apple Notes for myself?

Hi,

 

I was exploring an idea to create an app that uses a functionality of the built-in Notes app that allows you to scan any document through your camera. No matter what the angle, end result is a perfectly aligned image. This feature came in iOS 11.

 

Can I somehow port this functionality of Notes to my own app?

 

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I'd say if Apple publicly exposes that functionality to developers in the API, then yes.  My guess is the camera is available but likely not the algorithms to do the adjusting/alignments - but maybe not. Have you looked at the dev documentation?

 not a developer myself, hence asked here from people who are. That's why wanted to know from people who watch what API Apple releases

I tried looking for it on Google Bing, but didn't find anything ?

I find the scanning feature of Apple Notes nice and neat but quite limited so I personally use TurboScan Pro.
