Confused about USB-C with DisplayPort 1.2 and Docks

So my laptop has USB 3.0 Type-C with Display Port 1.2 support.

With a Cable Matters USB C to DisplayPort Cable I'm getting 4K 60Hz output from that USB-C port.

 

But alas a cable is not enough, better choice would be a dock with more ports and charging and stuff.

I got this statement "1. Single Monitor Resolution: 4K@60Hz (for DisplayPort 1.4) or 4K@30Hz (for DisplayPort 1.2);" from https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Docking-PowerExpand-Charging-Ethernet/dp/B088F7SY6S

Most docks seem to be either HDMI 4K/30Hz or DisplayLink which is not for multimedia / gaming.

 

Am I searching wrong? Where are docks that offer 4K 60Hz over DP when using DP 1.2 USB-C?

If the dock uses USB3, it's not possible to have 4K60 on the displayport link, only 4K30. You need a dock which only uses USB2, which may impact other things like Ethernet if supported by the dock.

That's a bummer, but explains why most docks are meh.

 

 

Any recommendation for a well built type-c dock with power delivery support with DP 1.2 and 1.4 support (without DisplayLink)? Recommendation on that site are for slim devices - I want a single magical brick that does everything.

I have Type-C laptops ranging from USB 2.0 with PD to USB 3.0 without anything to USB 3.2 Gen 2 with PD and DP 1.4.
