LiquidSolstice
Call me stupid, but for osme reason, I like WinRAR better because the context menus have icons. It looks better to me, is there any way to do the same for 7Zip?
iamwhoiam
Call me stupid, but for osme reason, I like WinRAR better because the context menus have icons. It looks better to me, is there any way to do the same for 7Zip? Outside of some registry hacking, which I don't think will work with custom shell extensions, the program would have to have the proper code to draw the icon on the menu. LiquidSolstice
I see. It's not really that big of a deal, just wondering if it could be done.
zhangm Supervisor Posted December 30, 2009 Supervisor Share Posted December 30, 2009 Find icons that you want to use. Use Resource Hacker to open 7z.dll. Replace desired icons. The latest version of Resource Hacker is compatible with 64-bit files.

This wasn't about changing the icon, but adding one to the context menu that you get on files/folders when you right click on them.
LiquidSolstice
Not looking to change the actual icons, I'm looking for Shell Context Menu icons.
zhangm Supervisor Posted December 31, 2009 Supervisor Share Posted December 31, 2009 Ok, fine, be difficult. Presumably this is the real way to do it, so grab the source code and have at it. http://www.nanoant.com/programming/themed-...sta-xp-solution
