Anytime Upgrade - Not in the UK?

Recommended Posts

Just tried to upgrade my copy of Vista HP to Ultimate and it tells me its not available in the UK at this time. Is it ever going to be avail in the UK?

MS site says Europeon Union is included?

Errr right

I selected PC World as the retailer and it worked (instead of Microsoft) - but it tells me it is 145 quid to upgrade - yet it would cost me 135 quid to order a new OEM Ultimate disc. What gives!?

I got my copy for only ?115 at Ebuyer

You should check it out. I started out with a Home premium on pre-order with Amazon for ?185.

Just so people in the UK are aware. I got Vista Business via MSDNAA and have been running it fine for a few weeks. I have been waiting for Anytime Upgrade to become active, so I can upgrade to Ultimate. Checking the website the Microsoft link doesn't work but if you use any of the other it works fine. I did the update via Sony which seemed the cheapest, I can confirm that it has worked and I'm upgrading my copy of Vista which was not from Sony. I can't guarantee this for anyone else but it's working fine for me.

^

so how does the actual upgrade anytime work?

Im thinking of upgrading to Ultimate from my MSNDAA business edition. On the ISO i burned does it include all versions?

Do I have to format ...again to upgrade to ultimate?

How much did Sony charge?

Do they simply give you a new dvd key and then the dvd recognises it as an ultimate dvd key?

Can i choose to upgrade to Ultimate 64 bit? I believe they only gave us 32bit.

I went through sony for ?80. The MSDNAA dvd works fine as an Anytime Upgrade disk. You download a licence file, your cd key stays the same. You open this file and then load your Vista disk. You are presented with two options Upgrade or Custom. Upgrade does exactly that just upgrade yuor version leaving all your settings etc. Custom allows you to do a full reinstall. For some reason the Upgrade option wouldn't work for me and Vista wouldn't boot but when i went through the Custom option it installed fine. You can do 32bit or 64bit but you need the correct DVD to do that.

My english isnt the best but here goes:

So if you have Vista Business (MSDNAA free student) version, you can in fact upgrade to Ultimate through the Upgrade Anytime?

Would the Ultimate version be all mine if I did buy the upgrade from Busniess to Ultimate? Can I use it for commercial use for instance?

Because I do save alot of money if this works, but I need to be sure.

So you don't get a new key?? if you reinstall... how are you supposed to install ultimate if you don't have the appropriate key?

    • Alien Isolation 2 will bring a new protagonist and setting, watch the reveal trailer here by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Only a few weeks ago, Sega and Creative Assembly dropped a teaser for a new Alien Isolation. Today at Summer Game Fest, Alien: Isolation 2 was officially announced with a new trailer while also confirming a whole lot of information about the setting of this survival horror project. Check out the reveal trailer above. Leaving behind the Sevastopol space station, the sequel will take players to a remote colony world. With a Xenomorph (or more) on the loose, players will be navigating both the surface of the weather-ravaged planet as well as "the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station." Interestingly, Creative Assembly is leaving behind Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Alien's Ellen Ripley, as the protagonist too. While it hasn't confirmed a name yet, players will be taking the role of a new character for this new adventure. The setting is also being described as a new hunting ground for the Alien. This will have players improvising and developing new tools to aid in their survival and escape, all to avoid "cinema’s deadliest killer." "It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel," says Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly. "Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer." Promising the same deadly tension from the original from over a decade ago, Alien: Isolation 2 is in development for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced yet.

    • Hello, From looking at the screen shots in your motherboard's manual at https://endownload.colorful.cn/EnDownload/MotherBroard/2022/Intel 600/Manual/Intel 600 Series BIOS English/Intel 600 Series BIOS User Guide.pdf, you go to the ADVANCED option at the top of the BIOS (UEFI) menu, then select SECURITY in the list of options on the left.  From there  you can enable and set the Secure Boot mode.
