Your Guess on Diablo 3's Recommended System Requirements?

Recommended Posts

I probably spent thousands of hours playing Diablo 2.

I cannot wait to spend thousands of hours playing Diablo 3.

It's really the only PC game I've ever played (besides AoE2:Conq.) Neither required very high processing power and I still use the same PC. So... It's time to upgrade.

What's your guess on the recommended system requirements? (I want to run the game on it's highest mode.)

I'll go with this:

OS: Windows XP/Vista or MAC OSx4

CPU: 1.8+ GHz

RAM: 1 GB

HDD: ~8GBs

Video: GF6

My guess is like that because knowing blizzard, their games (at the moment of release) can still be played in a wide range of systems (as they said). With this I assume with the lowest possible effects, those will be the requirements.

We got to see an exclusive trailer and get privvy into at the lan party I attended over the weekend. The system requirements were posted on the internal forum and I can't access them anymore, but I will say that they are pretty low.

I wish Diablo 3 and future games in general were based purely on DX10, as by the time it comes out, DX10 cards and Windows Vista will have been around for about 3 years. If you compare with DX9, that would be like if in 2005 most games were still based on DX8 with some additional DX9 fluff for people with high-end hardware. It just doesn't make sense.

Blizzard has always been good at allowing their games to be run on almost any system. I am sure that Diablo III will be similar with it running really well on low quality systems.

QFT. Blizzard have always focussed on scalability over the very latest graphics in their games which is definately a good thing. That's not to say the graphics are bad or anything either.

Hmmm it's hard to say. Blizzard games never require a good computer. Their graphics are never really too impressive either, which is the reason why it can be played on so many systems.

The best guess I believe comes from yottabytewizard so far.

Btw, did they announce SC2's requirements yet?

Typical. I ditch my desktop PC because I was bored of the PC gaming scene and decide to give console gaming a try...only for Diablo III to be announced! I'm fairly sure Diablo III will not be coming out for the PS3, too!

I doubt my laptop will run it so does anyone know what the specs are likely to be?

You guys are way off. Blizzard is known for making highly scalable games that can reach as many people as possible.

The minimum specs will look like this

MAC OS / Windows XP or Later

1 GB Ram

1.5 GB HDD Space

Direct X 9.0c Compliant Video card with 128MB DDR

DVD or CD Drive

High Speed Internet Connection

OS : XP SP2+/Vista SP1 or MacOSX.4

CPU : 2.0 GHZ dual core , Quad core for optimal performance (provided they make it scaleable cpu thread wise )

Ram : 1GB min 2GB recommended

GPU : GF6/X1800 or better 256MB vram

HDD : around 6GB of space

  • 1 month later...

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

-WINDOWS XP/VISTA

-2.0 GhZ

-1 GB RAM

-256 MB GRAPHIC CARD

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

-WINDOWS XP/VISTA

-DUAL-CORE

-2 GB RAM

-512 MB GRAPHIC CARD

that's my opinion when i saw the gameplay video on the net...i think that a strong dual-core/quad-core processor won't be needed, simple 2x2.0 GhZ will do,and maybe even 1 GB RAM will be enough.but i'm sure that graphic card will have to be a good one

    • So you think I voted out because i am anti-immigrant. I am fed up with those that come over and think that we owe them something. The ones that are at the moment coming over from France where they are already in a safe country because they think and no doubt will get everything chucked at them. While people who were born and bred here get very little. I have nothing against as i have said before those that come here and work. In fact I know full well that our NHS would struggle without them. I do have a problem with those that come over here and try to push their religion and their way of life onto us. My reasons for voting out was because of what the E.U is and is also becoming. I did not agree with Freedom of movement, not because I don't want people over here, but because people need to be checked before being allowed to cross borders and that goes both ways. But my main thing was because the E.U is becoming if not already a united states of Europe. The only reason countries like Poland and Romania joined was because they had no money. When my partner left Poland, she had nothing, Poland had nothing, that is why she left. Wanted to learn something and earn a living. The E.U would have us back according to Michel Barnier. https://www.euronews.com/my-eu...ator-barnier-tells-euronews Why are you so scared to say what country you are in?
    • I wonder what that line really meant...
