Recommended Posts

PlayOn enables consumers who own a PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, or HP MediaSmart TV to watch Internet video from sites including Hulu, CBS, YouTube, ESPN and more on their television. We have just released PlayOn Beta. Netflix support is just down the road, and the fully featured release will be coming shortly!

We will also be adding support for Nintendo Wii by the end of 2008. Stay tuned!

PlayOn is software you install on your Windows PC. With it, you can use your game console to watch Internet content from sites like Hulu and YouTube?directly on your TV. It's simple to install and easy to use.

  1. Sign up to become an official Beta tester.
  2. Download and install PlayOn on your Windows XP or Vista PC (you will be instructed how to download after signing up for the Beta testing).
  3. Turn on your home-networked game console and find the PlayOn Media Server.*
  4. Watch Hulu and YouTube on your TV!
  5. Check out the User Guide for further assistance.

I haven't tried it as yet, but I'm signing up for it right now.

The beta was just opened on Monday, so has anyone else here tried it yet?

gate1975mlm, I get a message on my 360 that says the content is using an unsupported codec and the content can not be played.

I get the message below when trying to play any video on the ps3.

The folder could not be accessed

This content may have been deleted from the media server

I contact technical support for PlayOn and within two minutes they responded, asking if I had installed the latest update that was released a few hours ago. My 360 sees no such update, but then an email they sent a little later said if I have the Fall 07 update, it should play (which I've had for quite a while now). Anyone have this working on their 360?
