Eh? wtf, I did :/ I saw the ending credits after I defused the bomb and it was def. at hard.

edit; I just checked, but I was wrong, i finished it on normal a couple of times but aparently didn't go further than the first mission on hard :s

at least that explains why I found it so easy :')

Hehe. At least it wasn't some weird bug that made you redo the game on hard to get the achievement you should've already gotten.

Not to be a bitch here, but; is anyone else getting the constant "kicked out" message when the host isn't kicking you out?

Yes and host left session error. I hope they patch this game till it can't breathe. Or maybe just patching it so it worked better than it does now ;).

Simple question... Any tips or suggestions for being a Spy on MP?

I just cannot seem to get any good at it.

I am great as Upsilon, but truly horrible as a Spy. I have successfully hacked a total of 4 or 5 times in about 15 rounds of being a Spy. It is now starting to get a little frustrating to say the very least.

So does anyone have any suggestions or general tips overall? It would truly be appreciated.

I suck at Upilson, however i love being a spy. Take out as many lights as possible, try to get to know the good spots, best spots are usually where they can't hit you directly. Also if they are close or you are in direct sight of them give it 5 secs if they are still standing still move, chance are they have EMF vision on and scanning for you.

I was really good at the level on the demo but I suck on the levels on the disc. The trick is to pick a spot near a vent or easy escape, preferably dark, and sit there and hack. You have to know exactly where the enemy can come from/kill you from and stare at that place. The second you see a flashlight, be prepared to run away.

This would be much easier if you were in a room where there is only 1 entrance or in a place where a Merc can't reach. Keep watching the Merc's face and once he looks over at you, then run. No need to run before he finds you.

The key to Spying is to work with your team!! I can't stress this enough. It doesn't matter how "good" you are at being a spy, if you don't coordinate your attacks with your team then there's no way you're going to beat 3 Upsilon forces no matter how hard you try.

The best strategies, I found was to have 1 spy solo it to a far terminal and then have the two remaining spies target one terminal. Have the solo guy start hacking to distract one or maybe two Upsilon forces, then have one of the other two spies start hacking the closer target. Once they are spotted, the other spy (who should be at the same target) should start hacking from a different vantage point. Try to go at it as long as possible off/on until one of you has the full file hacked. The spy who gets the full file should make a run for it towards the base, once that spy is at a fair distance the Upsilon forces should be long gone from that target and the remaining spy should complete his file download... then just repeat as needed.

I found that this worked great, but the key is to get a good squad of people willing to cooperate (which is why I play with RL Friends, mostly) but I'll be more than happy to go at it with a fellow Neowinian. Just send me a message! :D

... as for Upsilon... I pretty much suck at that... but I'm sure I'll get better once I get to know the maps a little more, I'm still learning them.

Thanks for the tips guys.

The totally sad thing is, I pretty much knew exactly what you were all saying to do already. It is just I cannot execute it all very well just yet.

I think I just need to practice some more as a Spy. I usually have no problem being an Upsilon in matches since I am good at them, so I play them more often than not, especially since it seems so many people hate playing them, I just volunteer to play as one so a match can get started. Now I am just going to make sure I play as a Spy as much as possible, and pretty much just practice, practice, practice.

Thanks again everyone. It is appreciated.

okay, this is retarded.

I'm back in the HQ after the

Cruise Liner

mission.

At the end of this level where Emele

blows the ship up, and you have to choose if you blow it up, jam it, etc etc

the cutscene just appears to loop -- they just stand around me clapping... and nothing else? I can't move or anything!

Q: How many hours would this take to complete, including any Video / rendered sections, doing the missions properly?

I did it in about 4-5 hours on normal, watched all movies, had to redo some sections though because I got spotted and wanted to get the 100% rating.

Ok, I had heard it was short, but this is coming close to HL2:EP1.

Might get in on the PC as it's ?15 cheaper.://

Cheers.

What is the best way to pick locks? It takes me forever to do so, and basically all I do is wiggle the left stick until it unlocks, and I have no rhyme or reason behind how I wiggle it. So is there a way to actually pick the lock correctly?

To answer your original question, yes there is a simple way of doing it.

All you need to do is spin the left stick round in a circle as slow as you can until the lock pick engages, then hold it still at that point. You should also get a rumble in the gamepad at this point. Then just gently move the stick back and forth until it unlocks that bit of the lock. Then repeat until all the segments have been picked.

Not a problem at all, just remember to keep the stick pushed out, don't let it return to the upright if you can help it.

Lock picking has been the same ever since the first SC. It's always at the four corners of the analog stick. Of course, it's a little pointless since you get the

automatic lock pick

if you finish one of the star objectives.

4-5 hours isnt actually unreasonable. Think about it like this, there are ten levels, i took on average around 35 minutes on each level, which makes it just under 6 hours, and i wasnt rushing through or anything, often taking my time lurking in the dark. Also, that was on normal, so i guess easy would be a bit shorter, and hard a bit longer. But it really is a very short game...

    • This is about the EU given consumers options, Apple is all about not giving options and locking you into its own services, this hurts Apple far more than it hurts the EU market because it makes Apple products look less appealing by Apple refusing to offer its own service because they have to give options to rivals, the end results are consumers might look at alternatives like Android. It's a game Apple can't really win when there are alternatives and Apple will in time change course on this, until then, let Apple hurt themselves in the EU market.
    • Microsoft unveils new Surface Laptop with improved trackpad, Snapdragon X2, and more by Taras Buria Microsoft's new Surface Laptop Ultra generated a lot of buzz earlier this month, but in addition to its most powerful laptop with an NVIDIA chip, Microsoft also has a more affordable laptop lineup, which has been waiting for an update for quite a while. Today, Microsoft announced the eighth-generation Surface Laptop. The new Surface Laptop is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Plus and X2 Elite processors. These chips offer faster CPU performance, up to 58% faster graphics, and 80 TOPS Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for on-device AI processing. Like the previous models, these chips retain their great energy efficiency, and Microsoft says that buyers can expect up to 20 hours of work on a single charge. The laptop is available in two sizes: 13.8-inch and 15-inch. You will have a hard time finding visual differences between the new and previous models, as Microsoft is not taking any major design leaps, except for the new Jade color, which may look familiar to Surface Laptop 5 owners. Other colors include Platinum, Black, and Dune. The 15-inch variant got a higher-resolution display. It is a 3,270 x 2,180 resolution screen with a pixel density of 262 ppi (the 13-inch model has a 201 ppi density) and a maximum brightness of 600 nits SDR and HDR. Unlike the Surface Pro 12th-gen, which is available with optional OLED displays, the Surface Laptop sticks with IPS, a 1,300:1 contrast ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Another notable change in the Surface Laptop 8 is its trackpad. It now provides haptic feedback when you perform various actions in apps and the operating system. It is a relatively new feature that Microsoft brought to Windows 11 in recent updates, and it is only available on certain devices, such as the Logitech MX Master 4, Surface Slim Pen 2, the upcoming Surface Laptop Ultra, and now the Surface Laptop 8. The new Surface Laptop with the new Surface Pro Like its tablet-shaped sibling, the new Surface Laptop is notably more expensive. It starts at a $1,599 for a 13.8-inch configuration with a 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. However, in the US, the base model has double the storage while keeping the same price. Available configurations include up to 64GB of memory and up to 2TB SSD (user-removable PCIe Gen4). The Surface Laptop 8 is now available for purchase on the official Microsoft website.
    • Microsoft announces 12th-gen Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2 processors by Taras Buria So far, 2026 has been rich in Surface announcements. Microsoft started with a fresh lineup of Surface for Business devices powered by Intel's new Core Ultra 300 processors. Then the company revealed the Surface Laptop Ultra, its most powerful laptop with NVIDIA's RTX Spark processor. Now, it is time for new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models with Qualcomm processors. Microsoft's original Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X1 chips debuted in late May 2024. Two years later, Microsoft is finally updating the lineup with new models featuring Snapdragon X2 processors. The 12th-gen Surface Pro continues the well-established formula of Microsoft's flagship tablet, and Microsoft is not even changing colors, as the tablet will be available in three colors: Dune, Black, and Platinum. The most important changes are mostly hidden inside. Microsoft switched from the Snapdragon X1 to the new Snapdragon X2, which promises up to 53% faster graphics performance than the previous generation and up to 15.5 hours of battery life. The built-in NPU is also much more powerful, and it can run at up to 80 TOPS for on-device AI processing. Like before, the new Surface Pro is available with a 13-inch IPS display, and Microsoft is still offering OLED as a separate, more expensive configuration. Speaking of configurations, the Surface Pro will be available with a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus or a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite. Microsoft expanded the available RAM configurations to 64GB (previously 32GB was the maximum), while storage remains unchanged at 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of user-replaceable PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The new Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop Other specs remain mostly unchanged. The computer has the same 1440p Windows Hello webcam, two USB4 ports for charging, data, and display output, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support, dual speakers, and compatibility with Surface Pro Signature and Flex keyboards. With that said, there is one very important aspect of the Surface Pro that changed significantly, and it is the price. While the previous-gen Surface Pro launched at $999 for the base configuration, in 2026, the entry-level Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2, 16GB of memory, and 256GB will set you back an eye-watering $1,499. To sweeten the pill, Microsoft is running a limited-time promotion where Surface Pro buyers can get a free Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard. The promo runs from June 16 through June 30. The new Surface Pro is available now on the official Microsoft Store website.
