Hmm so Vista SP2 and Office 2007 SP2 would be released on the same day, on 4/28?

No, that's not going to happen...it should be released in May or June; what they are doing on the 28th is having us get our systems ready for SP2 however there will probably be some more regular patches after that prior to SP2.

There is an update coming to Windows Update this Tuesday, as they are getting it ready it seems for Vista SP2...find out more here:

So how do you do it after running the SP clean-up utility? It won't let you un-install it, that was my question.

You cant, hence the comment.. SOL - **** out of luck

Thanks for your clear, concise answer. My appoligies if I wasn't clear enough. Uninstall the old what btw??

Sorry with the forums being awkward its a bit hard to post responses...

You need to uninstall the old service pack (Pre-release one) before you try the new

If you've run the clean-up its pretty much impossible i think.

Plus the 090313 build if i recall had a bug with Networking parameters.. Autotuninglevel couldnt be set to "Normal" since it didnt recognise it but setting to "Restricted" appeared to set it to normal :p

@kpo6969

you ran the cleanup tool, so you have to reinstall your PC. Sorry.

reinstalling your PC after running the removal tool does not make sense, all it does is remove the older files that the SP updated to free up space n such. nothing more.

If you use the cleanup tool it no longer has the files that it needs to put back in place to resume its previous configuration before you installed that particular build of SP2. In other words the cleanup tool deleted the SP1 files that it needs to revert to.

So in other words your permanently stuck using that build of SP2 unless you reinstall Vista. And then if your going to reinstall Vista anyway. I would recommend just using a slipstreamed image of Vista with SP2 integrated so you dont have to install Vista and then SP2.
