Disable Language Bar

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I I left the option "disable language bar" enabled when I installed the Autopatcher 4.5. Now I can't reenable it. I tried running autopatcher, then about and tools, but didn't find the option to uninstall the "disable language bar" registry tweak. I can go to Start/Settings/Control Pannel/REgional and language options/LAnguages/Details/Language bar. I can still enable it here, but all I get is the language bar in it's own window like shown on this picture. When I click on minimize it just dissapears (it should go to the taskbar as usuall, and as I want).

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

VodiK

Thank You for quick reply, but unfortunately it dind't work.

Hmm... how odd. That's the correct "Undo" for that tweak. If you look, the "Remove" tweak deletes a key. The add tweak puts the key back in. :wacko: Well I sure didn't expect that to happen. :/

It looks like new installation of Windows is imminent.  :huh:

Or not...  :unsure:

Thanks again, but this didn't work either.

I believe the problem must be somewere else, because if I leave the language bar in it's own window like on the picture, it works fine, but when I

try to minimize it to the taskbar it just dissapears. I bet the aliens have something to do with it. :alien:

Or the ninja thieves. :ninja: Or the devil himself. :devil:

VodiK

P.S. Thank You for the effort.

I also usually did, but when this problem occured it was gone too.

Well, I found the simplest solution, it always works like a charm.

Guess what, I reinstalled Windows XP and autopatcher (was careful this time and checked everything twice). :D

Thanks for Your help though ;)

hehehe :) ALWAYS double check what you have selected to install... and as far as regtweaks go, if you don't know 100% what a regtweak does, don't select it :D

hehehe... shall we add any warning like:

"You are not allowed to run AutoPatcher is you're underage"

"Too much alcohol detected in your blood! AutoPatcher will quit!"

But there is a solution....and it doesn't involve any re-installing of any kind.

Open the notepad and copy-paste these lines:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{540D8A8B-1C3F-4E32-8132-530F6A502090}]

@="Language bar"

"MenuTextPUI"="@%SystemRoot%\\System32\\msutb.dll,-325"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{540D8A8B-1C3F-4E32-8132-530F6A502090}\Implemented Categories]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{540D8A8B-1C3F-4E32-8132-530F6A502090}\Implemented Categories\{00021492-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{540D8A8B-1C3F-4E32-8132-530F6A502090}\InProcServer32]

@="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\msutb.dll"

"ThreadingModel"="Apartment"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000

then save it as a *.reg file .

run it.

do a restart then you should see the language bar in the taskbar area.

Probably (That happenned to me anyway) you can't change the language in the first restart.

Go to control panel->regional options->languages-->details-->language bar.

Deselect all options and then enable them again.

The system should ask for a restart , do it and everything should be fine.

PS: I 'd like to thank both raptor(Χιλια μπραβο σου ρε παλικάρι) and Flish for the terrific job with autopatcher.It is a life-saver.

Hi!

Another language bar problem. I noticed when i boot my Computer and Windows XP loads, my language bar is empty. There are no "En", "De" and "Si" signs in it. It looks like this:

I have to load Microsoft Office to get them back.

Any ideas?

Yup I tried it, but it didn't help.

The language bar does load. It's odd though that only the letters are missing. I can even click on the taskbar / toolbars / language bar

and disable it and then reenable, but still no letters. Only the vertical line is gone when I disable it.

The language bar is there, I just can't switch languages because none are shown. I have to run Office and then it shows. Damn Microsoft :angry:

VodiK

P.S. And thanks again for all the help. :)
