Unofficial Batch File & Program Switches Thread

Recommended Posts

OK, this thread should ONLY contain batch files on how to silently install various applications, and a sample database entry for AutoPatcher's database file.

Do not:

1. Include any serial numbers, cracks and such

2. Reply commenting on a batch file (keep it clean!)

Here are some guidelines (a.k.a. this is how each post should look like):

Application Title

Database Entry:

[Entry]
Name=Application Title
Default=True
AutoExpand=True
Description=Application Description
UniqueID=APP_TITLE
Parent=APP_PARENT
Target=Batches\application.bat
TargetNoBackup=Batches\application_nobackup.bat
WebLink=http://

Target Batch File (Normal version):

Filename=Batches\application.bat

@echo off
"%AutoPatcherXP_Dir%\CustomProgFiles\application.exe" /a /b /c

Target Batch File (No-Backup version):

Filename=Batches\application_nobackup.bat

@echo off
"%AutoPatcherXP_Dir%\CustomProgFiles\application.exe" /d /e /f

Hmmm... now I just need to get kelsenellenelvian to post the million ones I made for him on here (I deleted them after making them). Got some nice ones, all verified and working. I'll get him to post them.

Also, please only post ones that are 100% silent. That's very important. If you post ones that require people to click things and they don't know it, we can have some probs. Thanks! :)

got any batch files that can delete temp internet folder contents?  i can never get one to work.

Try this... I tested it on myself and it seems to work pretty good. :) It deletes everything from the temp internet files dir that's currently not in use. :)

i have 2 batches that i use all the time

one is just a backup of the configs for progs that i use the most, it takes the previously backed up files and dumps them in an old dir and the current files and puts them in the backup dir

then i have one for updating websites that uses ftp.exe (good ol command line) that just updates pages on the sites, ie. just replaces every file on the server with the ones on my hdd, in case i have made changes

everyone laughs at me for the latter, but hey, if it works, why screw with it?!?

@Kelsenellenelvian - Hey man, I wrote most of these for ya, why not post how they were done.? lol?;);)

Ummm I wouldn't know where to begin there are so many now.

If any one wants specific ones Flishfun figured out or the ones I did just post and I will post specific instructions ie. Modifying the Autopatcher.dat file, making the .bat file and getting the proper version of whichever proggy in.

also just added in=

Enable PrintScreen Key

Disable QOS

nVidia Coolbits

I am trying to figure out more proggys and thier switches so just ask and if I have figured it out I will tell you how, If not I am SURE Flishfun and Raptor can help you.

Flishfun did a great job with the ones he made for me and really taught me a great deal in automating the install proccess.

Thank You Flishfun & Raptor

@Kelsenellenelvian: dont mention it :D and as a reminder to all the rest:

Please, keep this thread clean... meaning only batch file posts should be here... this way we will be able to find things fast & easy and still dont end up with 150 page thread :D

/Raptor

FlishFun: are you going to have a switch/batch file section on the page? If you want me to help out with the section (if you want/have it) i will...

Which page? This page? If so, then yes, please help and post a bunch of yours. :)

:-D must use this in safe mode :-D LOL

Nope sorry, don't need anyone hosing their system. Please stick to useful commands. - FlishFun

sorry... just my lame attempt to have some fun.. thus i figured people would not use it... :blush:

Well I know you weren't being serious, but there are newbies that patrol these boards and I'd hate for one to damage their system and either blame me, Neowin, or the AutoPatcher for it.

maybe other peoples have made this batch progs.

I want the following progs in my autopatch if I can get it of somebody here I don't have problems with my batch :(

nvidia detonator

nero

adaware (I have it)

acrobat reader

winzip

Tweak XP

and all the dutch windows xp updates :p

maybe you can help me if you have the .bat file and the menu entry

Actually I made most of those for Kelsenellenelvian, if you give me a little time I can get you the exact batch commands. :) If anyone wants to beat me to it though, please feel free. :D

I think its a great way to show your appreciation, not just to post the batch files you have, I noticed that again Flishfun is having to answer other posts with 'I made that for Kelsenellenelvian I will try to get him to post it' but the only response you give is 'let them ask' did you have to ask to download autopatcher or have to beg to get FlishFun aid to make and tutor you, do you think it reasonable that he has to remake files for all that ask, okay some of your own creations may not be perfect but in the OPEN others can help correct or improve them and more importantly FlishFun isn't having to reinvest time to help and respond to others in the same way he helped you.

I know what you mean... I would like to see him post all of those batches, but I guess it's partially my fault too. I was up so late helping him with the batches that I wasn't thinking and I deleted them all when we got them working. I'll try to get ahold of him today and get him to send them all to me. Then I'll make a post with them all in it.

    • BATorrent 3.0.3 is out.
    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with ad blockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Samsung Browser'. It has very little bloat and is a nice-looking web browser with an inbuilt 'Ad blocker'. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. This browser can also install Chrome extensions. I have a system wide Ad blocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the web browser, but over the whole system. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt ad blocker because of that.
