[help] making localized shell32.dll

i recently changed my shell32.dll and installed the gant one and because of this it also changed my default system language (which is german). now i'm planning on translating the shell32 from english to german. 10 years of english in school, also majored in it...should be an easy job. i know my typing is screwed up and i make alot of typos. :D

anyway, i was told i need to change the string tables. does anyone know more about this or can give me any helpful comments?

But wouldn't be a easier to just extract the icons, bitmaps and AVIs and transfer them to a German shell32?

i'd use restorator, save all the icons on the gant shell "at one click" and apply them "at one click" to your original german shell32 :rolleyes:

yay it worked. only buttons i messed up is "delete" and "cancel". but otherwise i can distribute "gant.shell32.dll.[ger].rar" :D

nice one man, just would recommend b4 giving it out to others you should get some permission and ofcourse include the readmes :) glad it all worked for you!

ok, i forgot to ask for permission, besides i just ported the german shell32.dll. im gonna add explorer.exe, iexplore.exe, mydocs.dll, SHDOCVW.DLL, url.dll and zipfldr.dll.

so as i said already, if you know any other germans who want this they shall fell free to contact me :)
