nekrosoft13
According to gaming website GameFront.de, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 (also known as KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords) will be released in Feb 2005. Here are more details (translated by RPGDot.com): - The game is set five years after the events in the original game. You are a Jedi outcast who returns to the Republic which is in a shattered state after the Revan Malak war. The Jedi Order is hiding in the Jedi temple ruins on Dantooine. - Revan and HK-47 are going to be part of the game again. Revan will not be a playable character. Ebon Hawk is going to return as well just as other characters from the previous game. Further details have yet to be revealed. - There will be no savegame import from the original game. The game engine is the same that was used for the prequel. - There is going to be a new Jedi "Prestige" class. The existing ones (Guardian, Soldier etc) will be there as well. - The subtitle of the game is supposed to be 'The Sith Lords'. - Anticipated release date: February 2005 (US version) Source UPDATE ON 4/27/2004 GamesRadar has posted more details on Knights of the Old Republic: The Sith Lords, yet unannounced sequel to Bioware role-playing game. KOTOR 2 is currently in works at Obsidian Entertainment, "a trusted developer that Bioware have a strong relationship with, and should be available in February 2005 on the Xbox and PC. Here is some info: Sith Lords is set five years on from KOTOR's conclusion: the Republic has spiralled downward into a vicious free-for-all, the Jedi have disbanded after a civil war and you play the last remaining Jedi. Ooh, we like. So, unlike in the first game you actually start out as a Jedi. However, this is a bit of red herring. You still won't begin the game with a lightsaber and your Jedi Force powers will be limited as before. But hey, you've just returned from exile and the world's a mess - it takes time to get back into the flow. Not that much time though, and you'll be getting your hands on a lightsaber and ramping up those Jedi powers long before frustration sets in. So what are the real differences? Well, your leanings towards the light or dark side now has an effect on your party. Start going dark and your team will be influenced by your nefarious ways and begin acting likewise. Which all makes sense to us as it did seem a bit strange that you could be holier than thou or sadistically warped in the first game and it made little difference to those around you beyond the odd 'tsk' here and there. KingKapalone
I don't think it's going to be Xbox first because it is featured in the new Computer Gaming World. Laughing-Man
All I have to say is thank god they are keeping the same engine. So many sequals have been ruined because the game engine was changed. I wonder where this game will pick up from, the light or dark side ending of the first game? I wonder where this game will pick up from, the light or dark side ending of the first game? Especially since they said Revan would be in it, but not as a playable character. I wonder if they could put in a choice system in the beginning, since they neglected to put in an import between saved games from the first one. I'm really interested in this new Jedi "Prestige" class as well. :ninja: :p :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/160538-kotor-2-the-sith-lords-details/#findComment-2017239 Share on other sites

Laughing-Man
i think that if Revan will be in it, they would go with the Dark Side ending Ah, I see. I went through the dark side game and never went through the light side so I assume you are right. I will have to read a gamefaq about the ligh side ending to see what happened. I wonder where this game will pick up from, the light or dark side ending of the first game? in the beginning you get asked questions about what you *think* happened in the original. this way you can start the game which ever way you want. (that's what it says in egm) Not much happened. Both endings were kind of lame actually. Don't know about the light side ending, but the dark side one sucked... i think that if Revan will be in it, they would go with the Dark Side ending not necessarily; he's just the character from the first game. you could have gone dark or light with him/her. (remember how the character you play is actually revan) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/160538-kotor-2-the-sith-lords-details/#findComment-2018644 Share on other sites

(that's what it says in egm) That is awesome, it is probably going to be the first game to do something like that. I do not think the darkside ending was that disappointing, I kind of expected it to happen all along. (remember how the character you play is actually revan) thats true but also remember when you played the light side, your character kept saying, i'm not revan anymore, i'm (what ever your new name was). basically he rejected his past Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/160538-kotor-2-the-sith-lords-details/#findComment-2019801 Share on other sites

shihchiun
maybe because it takes time to make a better pc version or (more likely) microsoft probably has some loyalty deal or something (like gta and ps2) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/160538-kotor-2-the-sith-lords-details/#findComment-2020313 Share on other sites
Redestium
maybe because it takes time to make a better pc version or (more likely) microsoft probably has some loyalty deal or something (like gta and ps2) Consider the fact that Bioware was just bought by MS. Laughing-Man
Perhaps more people bought it for XBox then PC, therefore they are releasing it to its biggest fan base first.
