Internet stops working after uninstalling

Recently I installed Panda Platinum Internet Security but i didn't like it. Now when I properly removed it thru the Control Panel, I had to reboot. It took longer than normal to shutdown and starting up was slower too. Another side effect is that my internet just doesn't work anymore. The only solution to get it back to work is re-install Panda. Help!

i had it the other way around with mcafee

try removing it and killing everything off, registry entries etc.

u can always try restore points like markjensen said

Sounds like it corrupted your Winsock regkeys, Most likely a combo of that and spyware; You can try replacing

the winsock registry keys with that of working installation of XP Pro; or use the reg file I've attached which is just

that; Be sure to make a backup of the keys it replaces just incase it doesn't help,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinSock2

is where they're stored
