Visual styles for Neowiners

Some people have..ahem..loudly disliked some of the finalists in the GUI Olympics. It is not that WindowBlinds users don't appreciate nice, minimalistic clean skins. It's just that most WindowBlinds users come from the view that the whole reason they got into skinning is because they wanted things that were fundamentally different from classic or Luna (though Lunaesqe skins and OS skins in general are also incredibly popular).

But there were a lot of really good visual styles submitted that did well in various events. Here they are:

Some of these may not be your cup of tea. These are ones that I have enjoyed using on a daily basis over the past few months that didn't get as much attention as they deserved IMO.

That's what I suspected people would say which is why I put it up there at the top. ;)

But at the same time, in a GUI design contest, it's a little bit like the Simpsons episode with Frank Grimes where Homer enters in the power plant model contest and makes a power plant that is the same as the existing power plant but with a stripe on it.

Similarly, this visual style is, as the name implies, Luna with a couple minor tweaks. It IS a good skin if you're looking for a Luna like skin that is a bit better done.

Luna HOE not only is, IMO, an improvement over Luna in just design but it adds a roll-up button and had its own nicer toolbar icons and replaces the progess animation.

i like the themes, i am a minimalist guy and i post my visual styles and then use them with wb. i like the top one the best, but also opulence and vector sadly which doesnt seem to be there.

That's because VectorCell won lots of stuff and got lots of attention. I only listed skins here that didn't get that much attention.

yeah i like that first one the most... i like OS skins alot, OSX skins and windows variations are my favorites.

I didnt read all of the topic, but to get WB and Otsego to get along, during otsego installation, just hit disable XP style and itll work fine if you dont use tool style i think,

im Man... or Astroman? on the Otsego forums..
