dL
Dear Neowinians, I am curious to know how many people actually use ClearType. Personally, I dislike ClearType because I don't get used to it. I got used to Standard. I am just wondering how many actually use it. Please vote and leave a reply as to your suggestion on ClearType - advantages or disadvantages. dL
Quantumdefect
No I don't use cleartype, I never have and I don't think I ever will, that is unless I ever think that the edges are terrible.

dL
have used it when I had a CRT. I tried it on my LCD but it doesn't look very good so it's turned off. ClearType is supposed to enhance font quality for the purpose of LCD. dL

MulletRobZ
I find it all right on my CRT monitor, but font quality in Linux with XFree86 4.3 is better. ;)

Fred Derf Veteran Posted June 21, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 21, 2004 You really need to play with the settings on ClearType. I have a monitor where it only looks good at 1600 (the default is about 1400) at 800x600 but it looks best at 1000 at 1024x768. Go figure. I posted some screen shots in an earlier thread with CT on and CT off.
