DNS Suffix to be filled by Winnt.sif

Hi All,

After discussing this issue in BetaONE, I was advised to post it in Neowin.

I would like to have Primary DNS suffix automatically added via the Winnt.sif.

For example, in my case: the csse.uwa.edu.au part. The computer name should be automatically generated.

I have tried the following:

[NetAdapters]
   Adapter1=params.Adapter1

[NetClients]
   MS_MSClient=params.MS_MSClient

[NetServices]
   MS_SERVER=params.MS_SERVER

[NetProtocols]
   MS_TCPIP=params.MS_TCPIP

[params.MS_TCPIP]
   DNS=Yes
   UseDomainNameDevolution=No
   EnableLMHosts=Yes
   AdapterSections=params.MS_TCPIP.Adapter1

[params.MS_TCPIP.Adapter1]
   SpecificTo=Adapter1
   DHCP=Yes
   WINS=No
   NetBIOSOptions=0
   DNSDomain=csse.uwa.edu.au

But it didn't seem to work. Much appreciated for guiding us on this. :)

I think I've found your problem...

You need to put the following lines below your [NetAdapters] parameter

[NetAdapters]

Adapter1=params.Adapter1

[params.Adapter1]

INFID=*
