The mock, which is now a reality

The skin in action (the white titlebar variation)

I'll make this thread quickly so all the questions can be answered here about the skin. Firstly, there is a known bug where Miranda will crash when you mouseover your contacts. To fix this, go to the Miranda IM options, Contact List -> List and then uncheck "Hot track items as mouse passes over". This will be fixed in the update, when I have time to update it :p ..That's about all I need to say here, so just ask questions here and they will be addressed accordingly (instead of asking them in the Miranda Customization thread).

EDIT: there's another bug where the skin will crash miranda im. this is if you enable scrollbars. just disable scrollbars and your crashing troubles will be over. i have many many missing elements, so i will be taking care of those in the next update

I didn't really have time to make a thread or readme last night, as any files I upload will have to be revised by a moderator before it will appear.

Changelog:

- reworked "slick" style (a few visual improvements)

- black titlebar variation has a bit more see through frame

- 2 new variations of the titlebar version, the "Miranda IM"

text is removed and replaced with a minimize button (black

& white titlebar variations)

- minimize button moved next to close button (no problems now),

"Miranda IM" text is back

Next version?:

- icons of the same style of the skin

Amazing skin! So good I ditched my own custom made one for clist_nicer which took me hours to tune. Only one question though.

How does one remove the little icon that collapses/expands the groups? I still have the little + or - to the left of the group, and really sticks out liek a sore thumb since the triangle you made is on the right.

well, as long as you have the latest release of clist modern, you can remove the group icons in the Row items -> Icons tab options.

@Stealth-X: read the first post please

my miranda crashes when i use this skin, everytime i put my cursor over a contact, i just crashes.

what are recommended fonts/sizes for this skin (if any) cause i've got a problem with that line for groups going through the text, not below it (should be about 4 px lower for me):

other then that this skin rocks :)

well, thats one problem that i'm not really 100% sure how to fix yet. but it has to do with the spacing in the rows. just try playing around with the minimum row heights and font sizes.

miranda options -> contact list -> window -> always on top.

I did that and no matter if it's unchecked or checked, it's always on top.

Also, it's not getting an avatars for list nor is it showing mine, what's wrong?

wierd thing with that 'on top,' there is no other place to control this. Does this happen with all modern skins (I have no idea, how a skin could affect this.. but it wouldn't be the first time i got suprised by computers ;) )

I don't use avatars at all, so can't help with that one :(

Download the loadavatars.dll and it should fix your problem with avatars in the contact list.

And I have the same problem with always on top but that doesn't bug me.

Is there a quick way to change the close button so it minimizes instead?

586663326[/snapback]

search for the following line

#close=sPush,CLIST/HK/CloseMiranda,-63,1,-10,34,R-R--,0,0,Close Miranda

change "CLIST/HK/CloseMiranda" to "CLIST/ShowHide"

that should do it. if you'd like you can change the tooltip as well. just change "Close Miranda" to "Minimize Miranda" or the desired tooltip text

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
