I'll basically copy and paste what I wrote at DeviantArt here :) -

I've made a small mod for the Plugin "Nullsoft Tray Control v1.0" which comes with Winamp as deafult, Basically this mod is a conversion from the highly popular Synergy Classic iTunes Controller on the Mac.

All it does is add controls to your Taskbar so you can have Winamp minimized and still control it! The Winamp deafult icons for this were truly awful! So I made these to make it a bit nicer! :)

It comes with both black and white controls as you can see in the screenshot!

Also comes with Stop/Open icons, and a "blank open icon" version so you can have a gap between the rest of the System Tray icons as you can see in the Screenshot...

Installation is very simple! Extract out to a folder of your choice, go into Winamp Preferences > Plug-ins > General Purpose, select Nullsoft Tray Control v1.0 and click configure selected plugin, at the bottom you'll see a section called "Icon pack location" select the 3 dots button here and goto the folder where you extracted this zip, then open the relevant ICP file you want, then select which controls you want! thats it! simple eh?

Fraid not :( has to be in the system tray with the rest of the icons, are you sure the icons arn't hidden? also did you select the relevant icons in the config box which you wanted?

Stupid me- I didn't select the icons I wanted! This is great! Thanks a lot, Ianwoollam!

I feel stupid for asking this, but can anyone link me to the specific Nullsoft Tray Control v1.0 needed to utilize this? The version I have doesn't give me an option to change icons...I think I'm using the "Mercury" one--or something like that.....

This one works fine for me (v2.0 RC 6):

(Please note that it will uninstall any previous Tray Control versions.)

*** UPDATED ***

Now included Volume Up and Down controls! and the Blank Open version has disappeared, all you do to have the blank icon is enable Compact Icon (Supposed to have smaller controls in 1 icon, but imo it looked horrible so I just made it into a blank icon)

Hope you enjoy the new update!! Download - http://www.deviantart.com/view/32401335/

Download for the latest version of Nullsoft Tray Control (2.0 RC6 at the moment!) is here - http://www.nunzioweb.com/daz/files/gen_tra...l_v2_0_RC_6.exe

***ByteController for Winamp***

Made another one! Again I will copy and paste from Deviantart :)

Another mod for Nullsoft Tray Controller 2.0! This time based on ByteController :) I'll basically copy and paste what I said last time now! :D

It comes with both black and white controls as you can see in the screenshot!

Also comes with Stop/Open icons and volume increase/decrease icons, The compact icon is black so you can have a gap between the rest of the System Tray icons as you can see in the Screenshot...

    • Too soon, I'm still not over this death!
    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary in AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update but that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
