I've reinstalled it 3 times, with downloads from different sites.

It keeps giving me a message saying it's confused.

I never had a problem with the old installer.

It will not open the program

The log is:

Attempting to initialize common controls.

Accessing filesystem...

AutoPatcher 5.6 loaded the filesystem.

I have to web search to find a full core download.

Thanks

Just a thought, but out of memory = too little system ram or too many programs running there? (I see a full system tray)

Try booting clean (run msconfig and use diagnostic mode) and then try.

O no

I'm having the same problem

there got to be the other way

I'm not going to reinstal windows

It's not that big of a deal, just boot your system from the Win XP CD & follow the prompts.

Follow the prompts to install a fresh copy of XP until it shows you that you already have XP installed & asks if you want to repair it.

You'll lose the installed Updates & MIGHT have to reinstall your printer software & some "tweaks"-- like if you changed your virtual memory.

Another way to try it is to insert your install CD & then in the "run" (start-run ) box type:

D:\I386\winnt32.exe /unattended

"D" being the drive letter of your CD

Doing it this way "upgrades" XP without asking you for your serial number & makes less changes, but if your system is corrupted enough, this won't fix it.
