Microsoft To Buy Logitech?

Recommended Posts

There's loud whispers in the business community that Logitech, makers of (among other things) fine console and PC gaming peripherals, are about to be bought out by Microsoft. Neither side will comment publicly on the rumours, however one trader has offered this brilliant quote:

Supposedly, Microsoft is supposed to be taking over Logitech, offering 48 francs a share. Then the mouse-maker would be worth around 10 billion francs.

What would this exactly entail for peripherals sold on other systems made by Logitech, would MS get a cut of the profits?

Hope not, I like Logitech how it is. They are one of the few companies I will stand by even if the product is more expensive. They've always done me good product wise as well as sending me new products when mine was faulty no questions asked.

I like them so much I told them about an error they made when they sent me two Z-680s systems instead of one.

better not, if they do they better leave the brand as it is and what it does and makes, maybe they can help make new speakers to succeed Z5500 finally but thats about it they need to improve on the rest is fine as it is. maybe they could inject some development into G15/ mini screen things applets too but doubt it

i just got the z-5500, greatest speakers ever!!

God I hope MS don't get Logitech.

me too, all my peripherals are logitech... it's just so much better then MS's stuff

well the only thing i can hope with this is if microsoft do buy logitech, i hope their software for webcams and such wont be so bloated and more "built-in". When you install webcam drivers and stuff with logitech, so many new process's start.. i do however remove them all from startup and services.. but you shouldnt need to do that :p

Microsoft just aint a Hardware firm dats why it has experienced so many problems with xbox.......if Microsoft has to really take on the Apple n Sony.....they need to acquire industrys leading hardware tech company who excel in quality and slick looking products

Logitech is certainly a gr8 company but i dont think it would add so much to microsoft unless microsoft knows more

might not be so bad, logitech hardware has always been top notch, but their software side always needed a little work, enter microsoft?

Maybe they integrate logitec into intellipoint software. That would be awesome.

Hopefully if they do buy Logitech they keep the brand but more importantly the design team. As newer MS hardware seems kinda ugly.

    • Zen Browser 1.20.2b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. • "This transition will take several years so we shouldn't bother doing it at all" is a naive take. This is completely normal for all specifications that cross-cut software, hardware and multiple industries. Look at the PCI specification for another example, consumers barely have PCI-E 5 yet PCI-SIG is working on PCI-E 8. AV2 will take multiple years to get adoption and even then, even a decade from now people will still have older hardware that doesn't support it. That's fine, because the savings still add up as newer devices add the hardware to deal with it. The goal is never to get 100% on the new spec overnight, but to gradually adopt it.
