9 takes place in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. A group of sapient rag dolls, living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9 (Elijah Wood), who displays leadership qualities that may help them to survive.

The conflicted, but resilient group includes 1 (Christopher Plummer), a domineering war veteran; 2 (Martin Landau), an aged inventor; 5 (John C. Reilly), a stalwart mechanic; 6 (Crispin Glover), a visionary and artist; and 7 (Jennifer Connelly), a brave warrior.

There are at least several malevolent creatures up against this group; namely, the cat-skulled creature from the short film, a split-headed flying being that resembles both a bat and a manta ray in wing shape, and an insectoid creature with jointed legs and a pod-like body.

I've always enjoyed Tim Burton's films, and this one looks equally promising.

almost looks as if the movie is made specifically for the purpose of selling a video game based off of it. lol. still looks good and i like the music.

Tim Burton is one of my favorites. His directing style is just so awesome. The only film he's done that I've hated is the new Chocolate Factory. Other than that I've loved his films.

This one looks good too.

Just watched it and I loved it, reminds me a bit of Fallout 3 which is pretty obscure I know.

Doesn't interest me at all. Even though I know Burton isn't the one directing (just producing), I think he's horribly overrated and this reminds me of something he'd make, personally.

The short film that it's based on by Shane Acker was made years before LBP, so if anything Sony nabbed inspiration from 9. LBP was annouced in 2007, 9 the short film was first released in 2006.
