Quel'Dorei - Horde

Already got <Neowin> made just need some signatures. Belive a few have already started toons there.

Animated is my name and I'm in org, so post in the WoW thread what time you will be getting on and I can get the signatures and then start the invites and promote more people to invite.

We're rolling horde characters on Quel'Dorei a medium population PvE (normal) server with a fairly balanced alliance to horde ratio.

I'm totally indifferent about guild name.

We should make a summary of posters, their character names, class, and preferred role (heal, DPS, tank) so that people looking to join in will be able to make informed decisions about what to play.

Only goal so far is to hit level 17-20 or so by this weekend. Then we'll run a couple of 5-man dungeons for screenshots and fun.

Who's going to start the guild? Who do we need to whisper?

join the server and then type /join neowin . Most people aren't using their forum name but if you ask people will let you know.

We're hanging out in that channel while people get setup. I'd recommend rolling a death knight and completing the start zone. You can use the money you make from that to setup your level-1 alt with bags and some spending coin. For the truly hardcore you could go and farm up some quest greens and herbalism/alchemy to supply your new level 1 character with hot leveling gear and potions.

We'll form the guild in the next day or so, as soon as we have enough people together to get things signed.

Good stuff. I think I will be rolling a true melee class as my 4 high level characters are:

Holy Paladin (80)

Frost Mage (71)

Affliction Lock (77)

:)

[Emphasis]

Maybe just a DK, since I dont have one, make money quick, & can run you low level classes through to gear us up quicker.

[/Emphasis]

Horde PVP would make me come back, as i already have a Geared DK Tank that i would transfer

We're not completely opposed to PVP servers - the main reason for choosing PvE was because we're rolling on a server where none of us have high level characters or friends to help us out. Playing through The 'Nam (STV, Hillsbrad) again isn't really fun when you can't fight back.

Now the PVE servers aren't the one-way ghetto we can always transfer to a grown-up server if we find that we miss the ganking.

EU or US servers?

We're playing on a US server in the Central time zone.

So tired of Horde. I have a 72 Orc Warrior, but want to play a DK Alliance Tank/DPS. Not sure just yet. I've got the fire under me to play atm so I'm going to really try and grind it out. I can only play an hour or two a night, but in the past six months I haven't played more than 10 hours collectively. Heh.

i leveld my warlock on a PvE, liked it alot more then my DK PvP server, but can do either one. only miff i have is relation to my reg flying mount trying to mine compared to the speed racers

This started as more of a semi-serious/casual with intent guild.

If it ends up being a community thing thats cool too.

For those of you wanting to raid seriously when the time comes,

As I said in the other thread, pick what class you know the best.

I'm sure there's enough knowledge and experience around to provide for a good core.

Can anyone make a new thread with all the relevant information in the opening post along with forum names & toon names please :).

I don't think we should do another thread. Maybe have Giga or Mav edit the first post in the WoW Thread with infomation about the guild, to make it easy for people to see.

I got wow open as I do some school work. Join neowin channel or whisper Animated and I'll come to ya/meet up for guild signatures.

Damn :p Where's the EU guild? I wouldn't mind starting one if we had some decent players who are interested... Or can you play on US servers from within the EU without terrible lag?

About 6 months ago we had our one of our tanks for M'uru / Twins playing from Iraq. We've also had a priest playing from Afghanistan for Felmyst. Those encounters required very fast reaction time (less than one second) and they were able to perform their roles just fine. The major problem was voice-chat lagging (2-3 seconds in many cases) but they were able to deal with that by just paying closer attention to the world.

They had to watch for their own deep breath / conflag / etc. rather that relying on other people in the raid calling them out. If you can be self-sufficient then it's certainly possible to be successful even if you're stuck playing with 400ms + lag. Try snagging a free trial copy of the US game and see how it shakes out I'm not sure exactly how bad or good it is, but it's worth exploring.

You aren't able to play on a US server with an EU account so you'll have to buy another copy. The same is true for US players that want to play on EU or Asian servers.

EDIT: On beta I wound up raiding with a lot of French, German, and English players on the US servers and it never effected them worse than the rest of us.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
